Vault 9 is coming!

Today I’d like to take a moment to announce Vault 9 will be released sometime Q4 2015.

New features for this release include:

Enhanced Status Search - Looking for something?

Status search has been revamped allowing you to search on more criteria than ever before. Say you need to find a file that is pinned, but a newer version has been committed from across a share. You can now find those files. Perhaps you need to find files not in source control, deleted files, or even all *.vb files checked out exclusively to Julie. Vault 9 can handle all of these criteria.

The results are tabulated and presented in a condensed area where you can then interact with those items to GET, CHECK OUT, SHOW HISTORY, DIFF, etc.

Detect New Folders - Hey, What’s new?

The Detect New Files functionality has been expanded to include new folders added within existing working folders. You can add entirely new folders, or add just sub-sections for any new folders directly to the repository.

Windows 8 and Windows 10 - But will Vault 9 make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs?

Well, we’re not sure about that, and let’s not delve into the parsec is a unit of distance thingy, but we’ve made a few tweaks that should help improve Vault 9 client start-up and repository load times on Windows 8.x / Windows 10.

Work Item Integration within the Vault Pro Cross Platform Client - What bug?

A new work item perspective has been added to the Vault Professional Cross Platform Client to allow for viewing, adding, and editing Vault Pro work items.

There is also a number of various bug fixes addressed in this release, so be on the look out for Vault 9 due out in the upcoming weeks.

As always post any questions and comments below, and thank you for choosing Vault.
